Angelo C. D'Ascanio
 

Angelo provides legal representation and advise to clients in areas of bankruptcy and insolvency and commercial litigation.  His practice includes representing and advising:

  1. Trustees in Bankruptcy;

  2. Receivers;

  3. Lenders/Creditors;

  4. Debtors;

  5. Individuals and companies on financial restructuring and workouts;

  6. Parties in contractual disputes;

  7. Parties in construction disputes;

  8. Parties in shareholder and partnership disputes;

  9. Parties in real estate disputes; and

  10. Commercial landlords and tenants.

 

Angelo provides his clients with a pragmatic assessment of their situation and explores all options for resolving issues.  Angelo has represented his clients in all levels of court in Ontario.

 

Angelo was called to the Ontario Bar in 1991.  He graduated from Queens University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Laws and from University of Toronto in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts.  Angelo obtained his Master of Laws from the University of Western Ontario in 2010.  His thesis was entitled:  A Director’s Duty to Act in the Best Interests of the Corporation in an Insolvency or “Vicinity of Insolvency” Situation:  The Case for a Return to Basic Economic Principles. 

 

Angelo is a member of the Middlesex Law Association, Canadian Bar Association of Ontario, Canadian Insolvency Foundation, and International Bar Association.

 

Angelo's involvement in the community includes being on the board of directors of the London and Area Food Bank, having been a guest speaker at numerous dinner meetings and functions for various organizations, and a guest lecturer, mentor in the advanced legal research course, and judge in the Moot Court program, at the University of Western Ontario. Angelo has also been an instructor of a construction law course provided by the London & District Construction Association.
