Jeff was called to the
bar in 2005 and is a member of the firm’s corporate/commercial, real
estate, and estate planning department. He is a member of the Ontario
Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Middlesex Law
Association, the Canadian Condominium Institute, the London Home
Builders' Association, and the Ontario College
of Teachers.
Jeff attended the University of Western Ontario where
he obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts with a major in Philosophy and a
Bachelor of Education in 2000 and 2001, respectively. In April of 2004,
he graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Laws
degree. During his time in Windsor, Jeff volunteered as a case worker
for Community Legal Aid and was a footnote editor for Windsor’s
faculty-run law journal, the Windsor Yearbook of Access to Justice.
Jeff consistently ranked in the top 5% of his class and at graduation he
was the recipient of the John H. Rodd K.C. Award for the highest
standing in Private International Law.
During and following the completion of his legal
studies, Jeff worked at Cohen Highley as a summer student and as an
articling student. He has experience in the purchase and sale of
businesses, reorganizations, will drafting, business succession
planning, estate freezes, trusts and the administration of estates, and
the purchase, sale, and mortgaging of residential and commercial
properties. Jeff has a particular interest in condominium law,
land development and
issues related to will planning for individuals with special needs.
Born and raised in London, Ontario,
Jeff is never far from a pool. He was member of the Varsity Water Polo
team for 3 years while at Western and he competed nationally for eight
years as a springboard and platform diver with the Forest City Diving
Club. Jeff is an avid golfer and lives with his wife and daughter in
Wortley Village. |
