R. Tyler Hortie
 

Tyler was called to the bar in 2007 and is a member of the firm’s corporate/commercial, real estate and estate planning department.  He is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association and the Middlesex Law Association.

 

Tyler was born in Ottawa and raised in Uxbridge, Ontario, prior to attending the University of Western Ontario in 1999.  In 2005 he graduated from the Richard Ivey School of Business with an Honours of Business Administration, with distinction, and in 2006 he obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree with a concentration in tax law.

 

While at the Faculty of Law, Tyler worked as the Director of Sport Solution, a free legal clinic for Canadian Amateur Athletes, and established the Western Law Optimist Club.  He remains active in the Optimist organization and volunteers and participates in many fundraising activities throughout the year.

 

Tyler joined Cohen Highley in 2006 as an articling student and, following his Call to the Bar, returned to the Firm as an associate lawyer in June 2007.
