Lindsay has an Honours
Bachelor of Arts degree in Women’s Studies (UWO, 2003) and a Bachelor of
Laws degree from the University of Windsor (2006). Lindsay was the
recipient of several awards for academic excellence and community
involvement including the University of Windsor In-Course Community
Scholars Award, the Charles J. Clark Scholarship in Law and the 2006
Ontario Expropriation Association’s Bursary Award for a paper on
Expropriations Law. |

While attending the
University of Windsor, Lindsay served as an Executive for the Women and
the Law Association and coordinated the Faculty of Law’s 2004 White
Ribbon Campaign. She was an Editorial Assistant for the Windsor Review
of Legal and Social Issues, volunteered as a Case Worker and Group
Advisor for the Community Legal Aid Clinic and co-authored a brochure
outlining accommodation rights for Windsor Women Working with Immigrant
Women through Pro Bono Students Canada. Lindsay is a member of the
Ontario Expropriation Association, the Middlesex Law Association, the
Canadian Bar Association and the Municipal Law section of the Ontario
Bar Association. |

Through her employment
with Cohen HighleyLLP
as a summer student and as an articling student, Lindsay has gained a
broad range of experience in municipal and administrative law matters,
including property tax assessment appeals, the prosecution and defence
of municipal by-law violations, defending Provincial Offences charges
and appealing Provincial Officers’ orders. She has also attended on
matters before Ontario Courts and Administrative Boards and Tribunals.

After being called to
the bar on June 15, 2007, Lindsay joined Cohen HighleyLLP’s
Municipal and Administrative Law Department. In addition to her
Expropriation and Municipal Law practice, Lindsay has a particular
interest in Human Rights and Employment issues specific to
Municipalities. |
