Iain D. D. Sneddon
 

Iain obtained a combined Honours B.A. in English and History from the University of Western Ontario in 1989.  He completed his LL.B. at the University of Manitoba in 1994 and articled with Cohen Highley that year.  He has remained with Cohen Highley since his articling year.  Iain practices primarily in the field of family, estates and pension litigation.  He also acts on behalf of victims of sexual abuse.  He has considerable success and experience at the trial and appellate court level and has been counsel for a number of reported case decisions.

 

Iain has assisted in instructing the Advanced Legal Research course for third year law students at the University of Western Ontario and is actively involved in Continuing Legal Education while practicing on a full-time basis.  Iain audited the pension law course under the instruction of the Honourable Madame Justice Gillese of the Ontario Court of Appeal, prior to her call to the bench.

 

Iain is a board member of the Southwestern Ontario chapter of the Canadian Pension Benefits Institute and has presented on pension law topics at a number of conferences.  He is also a member of the Middlesex Family Law Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association and Mensa Canada.
